What is Reiki?

Reiki is a deeply relaxing, gentle therapy that stimulates enhanced functioning of the body’s natural healing systems.

Reiki is based on the idea that there is a universal (or source) energy that supports the body's innate healing abilities. Practitioners access this energy, allowing it to flow to the body and facilitate healing.

Clients may experience a deep state of relaxation during a Reiki session. They might also feel warm, tingly, sleepy, or refreshed. According to the NIH, Reiki generally appears to be safe, and no serious side effects have been reported.

For the time being, all Reiki sessions with UPLIFTED HUMAN are distance sessions.

Why Reiki with us?

Healing can feel like a lonely journey, you don't have to do it alone.

It's not our philosophy to just mechanically go through the motions. Rather, we endeavor to connect with you, human to human. Our intent is to be transparent with you and supportive of you, from intake to the post-session follow-up. We're grounded practitioners who have a deep desire to help you navigate your everyday life challenges.

For 10+ years, we have personal experience working across multiple energy healing modalities. Allow us to provide counsel on the best application and sequence of energy therapies. Leverage our practical and grounded experience, so you receive the personalized attention and care that you deserve.

We have particular expertise conducting distance sessions, implementing specific protocols to maximize your experience. Through distance sessions, we are able to work around your busy schedule, so you are supported when you most need it.

Reiki practitioners are as common as local convenience stores, you'll find them everywhere. No two practitioners are alike, and the quality of experience you have will vary depending on the practitioner. Read below to help you discern who might be right for you.

Questions to ask when searching for a Reiki Practitioner:

  • Do they actually practice it everyday and integrate it as part of their lifestyle?
  • Is your practitioner truly giving you Reiki, or is (s)he mixing it with other modalities and not telling you?
  • If they are giving you Reiki, can they articulate whether it's from the original method first developed by Dr. Mikao Usui in the 1920s, or some  offshoot developed since then?  Can they articulate why they're using a specific method?
  • Do you feel a sense of safety and comfort working with that individual?
  • Are they credible?

Use these questions as guideposts to determine who you resonate with, and trust your intuition.
